Markets Served
At Britt, we understand the exciting possibilities powder injection molding presents to our customers in the automotive, electronics, telecommunications, hardware, firearms, aerospace/defense, and medical and dental industries. Using the powder injection molding process, many of the design restrictions of conventional machining or casting techniques are eliminated. Significant component weight reductions are possible, and multiple components can be redesigned and manufactured as a single part, simplifying assembly. We welcome the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise on your next project. Contact us for more information by using our online Request Form or E-Mail us.

Case Studies
Customer Challenge:
New Product Design Challenges
and Budgetary Goals

A prominent hardware manufacturer was looking for design and manufacturing assistance on a new program. The part was particularly challenging because it required a very tight tolerance in a small groove area. They assumed they would need to investment-cast this component and then finish-machine the groove as a secondary operation. The tooling required for this and the part price were daunting.

Britt Solution:
Britt was able to “green machine” (machining prior to debind/sinter) the groove dimensions and create a finished component that exceeded the customer’s expectations and significantly reduced tooling and component costs.

Customer Challenge:
Achieving High Quality at a Reduced Cost
A high-quality firearms company approached Britt to determine whether or not MIM would be suitable for several components in its product line. The volumes and materials were varied and all were currently being machined. Quality and performance could not be sacrificed for the reduced cost, and it was essential that Britt could manage short-run and high-volume production on a consistent basis.

Britt Solution:

Britt was able to produce the parts consistently, at the same high-quality level the customer was accustomed to, for less than half the cost. Britt was also able to implement a program to maintain an inventory of several of the components that the customer could pull from as needed.
